This series is a work in progress but will soon comprise a complete archive of everything that NOEP has published in 14 years! Original documents can also be found at www.oceaneconomics.org.

The development of the measurements of the ocean and coastal economies that has made this archive possible is still in its early stages. A number of efforts are underway in the U.S. by NOEP and NOAA to improve these measurements. In addition, a number of countries have undertaken to measure their ocean economies using approaches based in part on the methods developed by NOEP. The next several years could see significant expansion in our understanding of ocean and coastal regions and resources.
