Originality and value -The originality of this study lies in its comparative analysis of the distinct contributions of deep-sea fishing and coastal fishing to Morocco's economic growth within the framework of the blue economy. It particularly highlights the importance of coastal fishing for inclusive development, poverty reduction, and local job creation, while addressing the sustainability challenges faced by the sector.
